auxilium: (latin) aid, help, assistance, support Wray Cason is the owner and founder of Auxilium Computing. In early 2002, he set out to bring his knowledge and experience directly to those most in need of it, the business people of his community who were feeling the recession and straining to meet there objectives. Through his years of work with many different organizations and technologies, he had a very clear model of how to be of service to others. Calling upon his past associates, he has gathered a fine team of talented administrators, and that is how Auxilium Computing was born. He started his professional career in the information technology (I.T.) industry in the United States Marine Corps where he served as a small computer systems specialist for eight years. Notwithstanding the official title of his military occupational specialty, he functioned as an all purpose I.T. support specialist. He did everything from desktop support to wide area network (W.A.N.) management for an entire region of the country including deployed units. He served in California, North Carolina, and Japan during his two enlistments. From there he went to work in the wireless communication industry where he remotely administered UNIX systems for a major national cellular provider, giving 24x7 support for the mission critical systems. “My goal is the provide highly stable, secure, and scalable solutions to the business community.”said Cason. “Also, I want to spread the word about the virtues of open source solutions. Many products exist out there. In a lot of cases, you can spend a pretty penny for them. Speaking generally, the strength of these products is that they give people solutions that work with there favorite operating systems. They are weak because they don't generally have the stability, power, and scalability that other solutions do. And if they do, you can count on paying dearly for them. What many people don't realize is that there is a whole world of open source products and solutions that provide great power and flexibility for little or no direct cost. The indirect cost can come in hiring qualified technicians to work with these relatively unfamiliar systems.” “That is why I am so excited about Auxilium Computing. We have the tools and the talent to provide rugged, reliable services. Because they are so reliable, we can automate many processes. This in turn allows us to manage more systems for more people. This means less cost to each of our clients. I am excited about the power and flexibility of the open source community. I plan on getting others excited about it too. It's just thrilling to realize how your organization can benefit. There are options that aren't easily available in the commercial realm. We can really provide organizations great value.”
